Sierra Mountain Snow Wedding, Foresthill | Shion & Paul

When Shion first contacted me, she wasn’t entirely sure what her wedding day would look like. We brainstormed and came up with many, many ideas, but when the idea of a snow wedding came up, we both knew instantly that it was something special.

The trouble with weddings in the Sierra Mountains, especially a snow wedding, is that no one can predict the weather.  In fact, a week out from the wedding date, the weather report predicted rain for Shion and Paul’s big day.  However, true to Sierra Mountain form, the storm billowed through the area a day early, dropping two inches of snow.  The wedding day was clear, with a beautiful blanket of white on the ground.

It was perfection.

Shion and Paul, it was an incredible joy getting to know you both.  I know you’ll treasure these images.  All my love to you both.

Isn’t this wedding gorgeous? You’ll definitely want to see Paul and Shion’s “day-after” photograph session in the snow, too!

  • What a beautiful wedding! The snow, and the brides gloves! Just so pretty and very unique. Lovely work Gavin!

  • How awesome to work with a bride who isn't afraid of a little cold and snow! I love that! My favorite shots are from the ceremony, for sure!

These are so fresh and beautiful. I absolutely love all the cozy winter accessories the bride and the bridal party wore. As a Michigander, I appreciate a good pair of mittens.

Gavin, you have been seriously an EXCEPTIONAL PERSON TO WORK WITH! Seriously you were my "go-to" person throughout the ENTIRE engagement person. Not only did we get to work with an amazing talented person but gained a new friend. We are so blessed to have met you.

I knight you as my honorary ninja! capturing the best moments! you are the best story teller! these shots are amazingggg!

i love Paul's expression when we were cutting the cake. i didn't really know the background tradition of "cutting the cake" and that's when i asked Paul "are we supposed to make an wish or something?" classic!

Again, thanks for everything! our day seriously wouldn't have been the same without you. Saying yes to Paul was the best thing i did, but 2nd best thing was picking you as our photographer. We can't wait to see you next week!
