Julia Morgan Ballroom, San Francisco Wedding Photographer | Sean & Steve
It's not often that a couple chooses to get ready together in the same room, but I can't imagine Sean & Steve doing it any other way. When I joined them at the Galleria Park Hotel in San Francisco, they were relaxed and laughing together. As I watched them get into their tuxedos, sit side-by-side to put on their shoes, then help each other with their ties, the care and attention they bring each other was obvious. Later, at the Julia Morgan Ballroom, when Sean surprised Steve with a song he had written, both mothers' eyes glistened with happy tears, and even the dads struggled to keep it together. Sean & Steve, thank you so much for making me a part of an incredible day. I hope you enjoy these memories as much as I enjoyed documenting them.

If you're planning your own wedding, and wondering what goes into an elegant, expertly themed event, Sean, himself a designer, is starting a series of posts on the process. He gives excellent, professional-level advice on typefaces, patterns, the benefits of having a specific theme, and much, much more. While he touches on issues unique to same-sex couples, a great deal of the advice is applicable to any well-designed event.
